Week One and More....

Week One

I am happy to report that week one went relatively smoothly and the kids seemed to settle in nicely.  Collectively, we were all getting to know each other which is THE most important part of week one. Each day they transitioned a little better to each center...we made adjustments along the way and we (the staff) are learning as well. We are trying to create a system that is functional and productive all the while knowing that Rome wasn't built in a day:)

These next couple weeks our theme will be "All About ME". Please email me some pictures of your child's family and friends. We would like to incorporate them into our circle time or group activities.

On Wednesday we had Music and the kids plays instruments and clapped along with the fun and interactive songs.

Week Two

We will be:
Slowly introducing academics and targeting IEP goals.
Getting to know our friends.
Meeting our new Speech Therapist.
Creatively Learning.

Welcome Back!

Thanks so much for coming to Open House yesterday! It was wonderful meeting you all and so helpful to have a small opportunity to interact with your children.  As I mentioned, I will be using this blog to keep you informed and hopefully save some trees in process. I will try to post information weekly just to keep you up to date on classroom activities, themes, field trips etc.

If you do not want pictures of your children posted...please let me know. My goal is to provide a little community in which we can all celebrate and encourage the progress of others.

Reminders:
If your child is on a special diet or you prefer certain snacks for them, please send them in and we will accommodate their needs.

AM Drop off: Gates will open at 8:15. Please have your child seated on the passenger side so that the staff can get them out quickly and safely. PLEASE, once you drop off, DO NOT get out of line and pass other cars ahead. We know that everyone has places to go, but safety is our first concern. The first couple of days will probably take a little longer...patience is appreciated.

Pick up: I think the gates open at 2:15. I understand that we all want to know how our child's day was, trust me, I get it. I ask that you keep your conversations brief with those that escort your child to the car. I will provide a daily communication log that will include one success and one challenge from that day. Please, email me with ANY questions in regards to those comments.

Supply money: Can be sent in or given to Stephanie at any time. I also provided a small list of items that are all always needed throughout the year.

Wish List: Gift Cards are always welcomed:)
